ConstructAhead respects the privacy of customers, workers, contractors and visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information through our website, online store, applications and associated services.

1. Who we are

ConstructAhead is a registered Australian business name operated by Alan George Wust, an Australian sole trader (ABN 14 608 767 441), based in Queensland, Australia.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the services used, we may collect:

• Names, business names, contact details and account identifiers.
• Purchase, subscription, billing and customer-support records.
• Business, project, job, site, client and contractor information entered into ConstructAhead.
• Worker details, roles, qualifications, licences, training, competencies and induction records.
• Attendance, timesheets, task assignments, photographs and job-completion evidence.
• Safety documents, SWMS, SDS, inspection records, incidents and corrective actions.
• Site locations and, where a location-enabled function is used with permission, device location information.
• Messages, instructions and records submitted to Illusion.
• Technical information required for security, troubleshooting and operation.

Some functions may involve sensitive information, including worker medical or health-related documentation. Such information should be collected only when reasonably necessary, with appropriate authority and safeguards.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide purchased tools and services, manage accounts and access permissions, maintain project and workforce records, support safety and operational workflows, provide customer support, process transactions, secure our systems and meet applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell customer project records, workforce information or private business figures to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Shopify store and payments

Our online store uses Shopify and associated payment services. Shopify and payment processors may handle information needed to process orders, payments, fraud checks, customer communications and store operations.

ConstructAhead does not intentionally store complete payment-card details in its own application database.

Shopify may use information under its own privacy terms. Where Shopify Network Intelligence or related services are enabled, Shopify may process information across participating merchants as described in Shopify's applicable notices and settings.

5. Accounts and application records

ConstructAhead uses account and database infrastructure, including Supabase, to support authentication and application records.

Information may be associated with a business, project, site, role or authorised user. Access is intended to be controlled according to the applicable service permissions.

Businesses using ConstructAhead are responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis to enter information about their employees, contractors, clients and other individuals.

6. Workforce and location information

Certain ConstructAhead functions support workforce attendance, task allocation, site records and location-related checks.

Where enabled, a device may request permission to access location information for functions such as site positioning or attendance verification. Permission can generally be managed through device or browser settings, although refusing permission may limit some features.

Employers and business administrators should notify workers about any attendance or location monitoring and comply with applicable workplace and privacy requirements.

ConstructAhead should not be used for undisclosed or unlawful surveillance.

7. Safety, medical and compliance records

ConstructAhead may hold documents and information relating to safety, licences, competencies, medical fitness, inductions, hazardous substances and site compliance.

Businesses must limit collection and access to information that is necessary and authorised. Medical and other sensitive information should not be uploaded without an appropriate legal basis.

Safety QR workflows, notifications and supporting media may evolve as features are developed and tested. The availability of a proposed function should not be assumed unless it is active in the relevant service.

8. Illusion AI

Illusion is ConstructAhead's integrated AI assistant.

The currently verified online implementation uses an external AI gateway for chat and image generation. Information submitted for AI processing may be transmitted to external AI service providers.

The online implementation also uses ConstructAhead's application and database services to manage authorised access, conversation records and approved assistant memory.

At the time of this policy, the verified online Illusion implementation is restricted to the ConstructAhead owner. Future customer-facing availability may involve different permissions and processing arrangements.

Conversation records may be retained in the application database. We do not currently promise automatic deletion after a fixed period or a self-service conversation deletion feature.

ConstructAhead does not sell Illusion conversations to advertisers or data brokers. Users should avoid submitting passwords, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

AI responses are advisory and must be independently verified for safety-critical, engineering, financial, legal and regulatory decisions.

9. Plans, photographs and project files

Where supported, ConstructAhead may process uploaded drawings, photographs, project documents and associated measurements to provide requested functionality.

Users should upload only material they are authorised to use and should avoid including unnecessary personal information.

Plans, calculations, estimates and AI-assisted interpretations require appropriate human review before use in construction decisions.

10. Private Session tools

Certain ConstructAhead tools may be designed to process information within the user's browser or device without intentionally uploading calculation inputs to ConstructAhead's database.

We will only describe a particular tool as providing Private Session processing where that behaviour has been verified for the relevant version.

Information that users choose to save, print, download, share or submit through connected services may be handled by those services or stored on the user's device.

11. External services

Depending on the feature, ConstructAhead may use service providers for hosting, authentication, databases, payment processing, email delivery, AI processing, weather information, mapping, postcode lookups and other operational functions.

These may include Shopify, Supabase, Vercel, Netlify, Open-Meteo and Zippopotam.us where applicable.

Links to external services, including fuel information and navigation websites such as PetrolSpy, are subject to the privacy practices of those providers.

We seek to limit information shared with providers to what is reasonably necessary for the requested function.

12. Cookies and technical data

Shopify and other service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for checkout, authentication, security, functionality, analytics and applicable preferences.

Hosting providers may collect technical logs such as IP addresses, browser information, request details and error information.

We do not claim that the entire ConstructAhead ecosystem is free from cookies or technical logging.

13. Storage, security and access

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Measures may include authentication, role-based access controls, secured connections and service-provider security features.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Users and business administrators should protect account credentials and grant access only where necessary.

14. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including service delivery, recordkeeping, security, dispute resolution and applicable legal obligations.

Retention periods may differ by record type, service and legal requirement. We do not promise a universal automatic deletion period.

Requests for access, correction or deletion can be sent to our contact email. Requests will be assessed against applicable legal obligations and any legitimate need to retain records.

15. Marketing

We may send service-related messages needed for purchases, account access, security and customer support.

Marketing communications, where used, will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian law, including unsubscribe requirements.

16. Overseas processing

Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia. This can include cloud infrastructure and external AI services.

Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to manage these arrangements consistently with Australian privacy obligations.

17. Children

ConstructAhead's commercial and construction-related services are not directed to children. Businesses should not enter children's personal information unless there is a legitimate, lawful reason to do so.

18. Access, correction and complaints

You may contact us to request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you, or to raise a privacy concern.

We will review requests in accordance with applicable law. If a concern is not resolved, you may seek guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technical arrangements or legal obligations change. The current version will be made available through our website or store.
